Total Fines Control: DEM Modifier
Total Fines Control (TFC) is an advanced polymer-based dust suppression additive designed for the mining industry, to be added to bulk material to minimise the water required for it to reach its Dust Extinction Moisture Level (DEM). Once added to the material the volume of water required to prevent dust stays reduced throughout the transport chain - from transporting and stockpiling at the mine, transporting to the port, loading onto the ship, unloading from the ship delivery to the customer.
Total Fines Control lowers the water volume needed for bulk materials (like coal or specific ores) to reach their Dust Extinction Moisture (DEM) levels. By significantly cutting the required DEMoften by 30% to 40% - Total Fines Control minimises water usage while keeping the material's fine particles from becoming airborne during transport and handling.
Total Fines Control helps supply chains achieve strict moisture targets without over-wetting the product. It reduces the transport risk of too much moisture in ores that can fluidise. Aids in suppressing dust emissions to ensure compliance with environmental and port regulations.
Pricing is based on a per litre rate. It can be supplied in 25L, 1000L (IBC container) quantities. Download brochure here.
APPLICATION
Total Fines Control can be added at any point water is added to the material. To get the even coverage of the material this is typically done with spray bars at conveyor transfer points or on conveyors.
BENEFITS
Enhanced Efficiency: Drier ore is easier to handle, transport, and store, as it is less likely to stick to equipment or form lumps that can cause bottlenecks in the production process. This can lead to faster and more efficient production and lower operating costs.
Lower Water Consumption: With lower DEM, the need for water to control dust and regulate moisture content would be reduced, potentially lowering water usage and costs.
Reduced Shipping Costs: With less moisture in the ore, it would be lighter and require less energy to transport, potentially leading to lower shipping costs.
Improved Product Quality: Drier ore may improve product quality by reducing the potential for clogging and improving the ability to control particle size and shape, leading to a more consistent and higher quality end product.
