Misting & Fogging Dust Suppression

Mist and fog dust control is used when the dust is already airborne and needs to be suppressed. The key concepts in mist and fog dust suppression are explained on the Dust Control Theory page. The important concepts are as follows:
  • matching the water droplet size range to the dust particle size range
  • using water additives for the dust droplets are hydrophobic

Misting and Fogging systems can be on a small scale used in enclosed spaces or large scale used in open areas. They can be used with large amounts of mist to suppress large amounts of dust near the source or a fine fog to suppress general airborne dust.
